10 MONTHS OLD

I cannot believe all that Casey has experienced and learned in just a few weeks. He's crawling, pulling himself up, walking along furniture, cutting teeth, clapping his hands, eating "baby biscuits" and adding "nananana" to his vocabulary (he's getting closer to "mamamama"). Unfortunately, now that he can crawl and pull himself up, getting him to go to sleep is a struggle. He crawls to the edge of the crib, pulls himself up, starts crying and then mommy or daddy lays him back down - over and over and over again. One night it was almost an hour before he stopped pulling himself up and fell asleep. Oy!

His last doctor appt. was last week. He weighed in at over 19 lbs., over 27 inches long and had a head measurement that's in the 90th percentile! Quite a noggin. It just means he has lots of brains. :-)

We went camping over the Father's Day weekend...which he did very well. He would done alot better if Mommy & Daddy didn't wake him up at 4am...twice. The first night it rained and the tent leaked so Mark got out and threw a tarp on top, but the zipper got stuck and it took us almost 5 min to get it undone...which caused alot of commotion and woke the little man up (he didn't fall back asleep until almost 6). The second night it got really chilly and so I thought it a good idea to bring him into the bed with us...he woke up and stayed awake for over an hour. But other than that we had a great time with friends and he had more good times with his pal, Reese. Little peas in a pod, they are.

The end of June we headed 2 hrs south to visit the Creation Museum. Bobby, Sarah and the kids were on their way to Gatlinburg so they stopped in C-Bus to visit us and go to the museum. It was very well done, my only wish was that it was more interactive for kids...more hands on. They did have a petting zoo, which seemed like a quarter mile away, but at least the grounds were nice. Really beautiful landscaping...and lots of dinosaur stuff everywhere!

A couple Saturdays ago I found Casey a little inflatable pool at a garage sale. It was a really warm day, so we filled it up and stuck him in it. When we put him in it he didn't cry, he didn't smile, he didn't laugh. He did start to play so we assumed he liked it. He's so expressionless. You never know if he's happy about something new or just like...okay, whatever.

Casey experienced his very first Boyer 4th of July. We had some friends over for a cookout and then we watched our community fireworks. Grandma Boyer bought him a very special bib...My First 4th of July. He wore it until I could no longer stand the smell of spit-up. We woke him up so he could experience his first fireworks show. He was, once again, expressionless. No crying, no smiling, just staring. I think he liked it.

So, here we are. 10 months old. I am just so amazed at all he has learned to do and how he has grown. Makes me wonder what this next month is going to bring. More teeth? Walking? I hope its..."Mamamama!!!!!!!!"
